For 2011, the Lexus LX 570 is unchanged, except for a new heated steering wheel, interior wood trim, and new colours.

Based on the Toyota Land Cruiser, a model not sold in Canada, the LX 570 uses a 5.7-litre V8 engine, mated to a heavy-duty six-speed transmission with manual shift mode. It uses a full-time four-wheel drive system with electro-hydraulic suspension, Active Height Control and Variable Suspension. It lowers the chassis by an average of 5 cm for easy entry and exit, and resumes its normal height when the vehicle accelerates; it also lowers it at highway speeds for extra stability.

Standard features include 20-inch alloy wheels, four-zone automatic climate control, power tilt and telescopic heated wood and leather-wrapped wheel with audio controls, six-CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary jack and USB input, Bluetooth connectivity, XM satellite radio, heated and cooled perforated leather seats with ten-way driver and eight-way passenger power adjustment, driver’s side memory, 40/20/40 split-folding heated rear seats, power-folding third-row 50/50 seats, auto up/down windows, rear privacy glass, voice-activated hard-disc-drive navigation system, wide-view front and side monitor system, eight-inch LCD display, back-up camera, electroluminescent gauges, trip computer, multi information display, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, premium illuminated entry system, rear step bumper, roof rails with crossbars, power sunroof, towing hitch with seven-pin trailer wire harness, illuminated running boards, roof-mounted spoiler, auto-dimming power-folding heated mirrors with puddle lamps and reverse auto-tilt, variable intermittent rain-sensing wipers, wiper de-icer, rear wiper/washer, automatic adaptive headlamps with washers, fog lamps, rear seat side airbags, first-aid kit, LED taillamps, tire pressure monitoring system, cruise control, garage door opener, Smart Key system, and 115-volt power outlet.

Issue: This recall is for certain block heater kits installed on certain vehicles or sold as accessories at Toyota or Lexus dealerships. On certain vehicles, the engine block heater cable may not have enough heat protection and could be damaged by high temperatures. If this happens, the cable could short circuit while plugged in, and cause the wiring to overheat or melt. Corrective Actions: Toyota recommends that you should stop using the engine block heater immediately. Toyota will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to disable the engine block heater. For some vehicles, the corrective actions for this recall are under development. For others, a new engine block heater cannot be installed, and the owner will receive a refund of the purchase price of the engine block heater.

On certain vehicles, the seat belt tension sensor wiring of the front passenger occupant classification system could fatigue and break over time. This could result in the front passenger airbag, knee airbag, and passenger seat-mounted side airbag to become deactivated, which in the event of crash, could increase the risk of injury to the occupant. Correction: Dealers will modify or replace the front passenger seat belt assembly as necessary. Note: If the tension sensor wiring were to break it could cause the airbag warning light and the passenger airbag "OFF" indicator to illuminate.

On certain vehicles, if the driver's all-weather floor mat is not secured by the retaining clips, or is placed on top of an existing carpeted floor mat, the mat could move forward and interfere with the accelerator pedal. If this occurs, the accelerator pedal could become stuck in the wide open position. A fully depressed accelerator pedal may result in very high vehicle speeds and make it difficult to slow or stop the vehicle. This could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will modify or replace the accelerator pedal, as well as the genuine Lexus all-weather floor mat. Note: This is an expansion of recall 2009359 for vehicles not previously included in the campaign.
